Exell Power Services is seeking candidates to provide our clientele with safe and reliable technical field service support. Position involves commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, and in-house manufacturing of various power system equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Work on high, medium and low voltage power systems. Performing safe work in utility, industrial, commercial, and marine sectors.
- Service, maintain, repair, assemble, troubleshoot and commission electrical apparatus and protective devices.
- Operate various types of electrical test equipment, analyze test data and compile technical reports for the clients.
- Assist engineers in data collection, completion of power system studies, site inspections, equipment design, project scope development, etc.
- Maintain positive client relationships through on-site interactions.
- Communicate effectively regarding found issues, project execution, and timelines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Ensure full compliance with the internal and client-specific safety programs and policies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience as an Electrical Field Service Representative.
- Hands-on experience working in industrial, commercial, and utility environments. Experience with marine electrical services will be considered an asset.
- Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Engineering diploma from an accredited institution. Candidates must be registered and in good standing as a P.ENG, EIT, CET, PTECH, or ASCT with the respective provincial associations. Candidates with Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Winder, or Power Systems Electrician qualifications may be considered with proven electrical testing and field service experience.
- Experience maintaining and commissioning high, medium, and low voltage electrical apparatus and protective devices. Ability to use and understand various test equipment from manufacturers like Omicron, Megger, Doble, etc. Previous NETA certification will be considered a strong asset. Any experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and various CAD software will be considered a strong asset.
- Good understanding of industry standards such as CSA, UL, IEEE, ANSI/NETA etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with project management and project team leadership will be considered an asset.
- Good understanding of industry safe work practices.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel for work.
- Be self-motivated, outgoing, client-oriented with effective time management skills.
- Work in a team in a very dynamic work environment

- Any experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and various CAD software will be considered an asset
- Previous NETA certification will be considered an asset

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING
Exell Power Services is seeking candidates to join the team providing our clientele with reliable engineering services. Position involves various degrees of engineering involvement in acceptance and maintenance services, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades and retrofits, and in-house manufacturing of various power system equipment. Successful candidates will be reporting directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in design of various electrical distribution equipment. Compile drawing packages in CAD detailing single-line diagrams, control schematics, etc. Design protective device settings and logic diagrams.
- Compile distribution system models in transient analysis software (ETAP). Perform arc flash hazard assessments, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and load flow studies. Compile detailed technical reports with the findings and recommendations.
- Assist and oversee field technicians in power system data collection. Complete power quality surveys, site inspections, and project scope development.
- Liaison with utility engineers and representatives on behalf of clients, ensure the full compliance of designed equipment with the local codes and regulations. Compile utility submission packages, obtain necessary certifications from standards bodies such as CSA, etc.
- Provide technical support to field teams working on high, medium, and low voltage power systems. Compile technical reports detailing asset condition and maintenance recommendations to clients in utility, industrial, commercial, and marine sectors.
- Ensure full compliance with the internal and client-specific safety programs and policies.
- Maintain positive client relationships through on-site interactions.
- Communicate effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Candidates must be registered and in good standing or eligible to register with the respective provincial associations.
- Experience working in industrial, commercial, institutional, and utility environments. Experience with marine electrical services will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Design and provide drafting of electrical equipment, components and systems using 2D and 3D Software and establish detailed drawings
- Interface and work with the manufacturing team members to ensure seamless integration between designing and assembly of the equipment to the client’s requirements
- Work with the vendor, creating and reviewing technical documentation and design drawings for client’s approval
- Liaison with vendors for procurement and timely deliveries
- Scope of work to include:

PROJECT MANAGER
PROJECT MANAGER
Exell Power Services is seeking candidates to manage moderate size project orders through to on time complete and on budget. Manages complete project process from order preparation, through manufacturing, turnkey service order support and financial reconciliation. Documentation, communication, and interactive customer skills are important to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Confirms customer requirements, which includes drawings, specifications, job site requirements, bill of material alignment with specifications and clarify exceptions
- Provide upfront support during project quotation and preparation phase to ensure specifications are met.
- Develops a project schedule and communicates with the customer to ensure expectations are being met. Work with internal manufacturing, service sectors including third party vendors.
- Monitor the execution of the customer’s project order, verifying execution of the project through kick-off meetings, communication to all parties and exchange of technical requirements and project plan information.
- Work with Location Managers, Engineering, Design, Shop and Field Teams to coordination onsite and shop activities.
- Lead the closeout of the customer’s project to include final reviews (debriefs) through review of internal system information and customer feedback. Provide coordination with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions.
- Ensure each project is executed to meet or exceed the customer’s requirements while also ensuring the project is executed within the financial boundaries of cost and margin.
Qualifications:
- At least 3-4 years of project management experience in electrical power distribution equipment and field services activities.
- Technical knowledge of a variety of facility / building systems, including medium voltage and low voltage switchgear and circuit breakers, diesel generators, power distribution equipment, electrical systems.
- Experience leading and developing project teams to achieve improved results, measured through increased customer satisfaction, increase project profitability.
